Do to others as you would have them do to you. [Luke 6:31]
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. [Proverbs 3:5]
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. [Hebrews 11:1]

First of July...

  • It's a brand new month. Half of 2004 is officially over. Nothing spectacular has happened to me in the past 6 months except for a few mild heartaches. You know, the usual kind. Hehe.
  • Finally, I've given my G-mail invites to 5 people. Some people are selling theirs on E-bay. Should have I done that instead? Teehee.
  • Wimbledon update: Serena, Mauresmo, Davenport and Sharapova are in the final four of the Women's Singles Title; Mark Philippoussis who lost to Tim Henman [who lost to Mario Ancic] are both out of the running. Roddick is in the semi's once again. The Federer-Hewitt quarter final match is on as I'm typing this entry, Federer leads 2 sets to 1. When Mark lost to Henman, I was hoping Henman would win the title but now...hmmm...I'm gonna go for Roddick. I just want someone new to win but like I said before Federer is a strong player. As for the women's side, Mauresmo or Davenport for me. They make the game look so darn easy. With every grunt and shriek along the way.
  • Work was light yesterday. It's bound to be a busy one next week.
  • I created a new blog, well, not really a new one, just an alternative page for the daily breads, check it out at daily_bread.blogspot.com.

    Be That Way...

  • I kept forgetting to ask. Who wants a G-mail account? I have 5 invites left. Just let me know if you want one.
  • Wimbledon update:
Men's Singles - Federer, Hewitt, Mayer, Grosjean are in the Quarter Finals. Philippoussis lost the first set to Henman as I'm typing. I wish Mark wins. Roddick is in leading 2 sets vs Popp; Ladies Singles - Davenport, Sprem, Sugiyama and Sharapova are in the final 8.
  • Tonight is Busy-TV-Viewing-Tuesday. [ED, One Tree Hill, The OC, Six Feet Under, Zoe Buisek...] Do not disturb. Hehe.
  • If you've been watching Wimbledon on StarWorld, I'm sure you've seen the Lacoste commercial. Anybody know who's the artist behind the song that was used in the commercial? Thanks in advance.
  • Ok kids, gotta logoff for now, must support Mark and watch his match. Godbless.

    Game...Set...Match...

  • Birthday greets are in order for Nurse A. and John Cusack [I gave her my heart and she gave me a pen. -- from Say Anything]. Haberday to you.
  • Played two hours of badminton yesterday, I lost [yet again] versus my cousin and friend. We only got to play singles coz one of my friends didn't make it. Like always, we had fun. Sweats galore. Next Sunday, I hope to win [at least] one match. Sheesh. Good thing, I enjoy playing the game.
  • I volunteered for the World Youth Day 2005, of course the chances of me being chosen is one in a million but it's worth a shot. I need more spirituality in my life. I STILL regret not being a part of the WYD 1995 when it was held here. Let's just say, I wasn't "friendly" with God during those days.
  • Btw, Wimbledon is getting exciting. Fourth round starts tomorrow, here are the Final 16 [I italized the names of the ones that I feel [not necessarily the ones I want] will advance to the quarter finals, my fearless predictions, if you may...hehehe]:
      Men Singles
      Federer vs Karlovic
      Moya vs Hewitt
      Mayer vs Johansson
      Grosjean vs Ginepri
      Henman vs Philippoussis
      Malisse vs Ancic
      Spadea vs Schalken
      Popp vs Roddick
      Ladies Singles
      Serena vs [To Be Determined]
      Petrova vs Capriati
      Mauresmo vs [TBD]
      Suarez vs Grande
      Davenport vs Zvonareva
      Maleeva vs Sprem
      Tanasugarn vs Sugiyama
      Sharapova vs Frazier
    • Anybody offering a weekend part-time job out there? I could use some extra cash for something I need to save up for. Ain't that vague or what? Hehehe. Let me know if you know something.
    • It's a brand new work week. It's bound to be a busy one for me. May we all have a fine week. Godbless.

I LoVe [to watch] this game...

    • Venus lost to Karolina Shrem, that match was intense, one point error during the 2nd set tie break...hmmm...nobody noticed it? Well, the commentators did but still the match went on.
    • Paradorn, Safin and Dokic were first round beauties.
    • The 2nd round match between JC Ferrero and Stefan Koubek was a battle of the grunters. [teehee] JC won but sadly he lost his 3rd round match to Robby Ginepri in straight sets.
    • Mark Philippoussis is still standing. I missed his two previous matches, come on Star Sports give Marky more air time. [hehehe]
    • Goran Ivanisevic lost to Hewitt. I will miss Goran play. Such a character though I don't like the fact that he spits on the court. Ewww.
    • Pretty boys JM Gambill, Tommy Haas and Mardy Fish lost their respective matches. James Blake didn't join this year, he must be injured.
    • Roddick still has a chance to win, will he get it this year? Let's wait and see.
    • Anastacia Myskina [French 2004 winner] lost her second round match. Same with Daniela Hantuchova, Navratilova [at 47, she still can play her game...] and Mary Pierce.
    • Lindsay Davenport, JCapriati, Serena, Sugiyama, and Tanasugarn are still in the running.
    • Who'll win this year? I want a new winner. My favorites are Philippoussis, Karolina Shrem, Andy Roddick but then again there's Federer and Serena to consider. Good luck to all of them.
    • Check out the Wimbledon official site for more updates and highlights.

      Rest day...

    • I've no work today. It's Manila day. The Customs offices happens to be in that area. Yay. One day rest.
    • I've been reading The Pilot's Wife whenever I'm waiting at the work [yes, my work is actually deals with a lot of waiting...], and a few days ago at around 3am-ish while checking the schedule on Star Movies, what do you know? The Pilot's Wife was scheduled to be shown at around 5:30am that day. I was sleepy at that time so I just set the VCR on timer. I'm not even sure if the movie was based on the same book I'm reading. I'm now motivated to finish the book so I could watch the movie. I think that's how it should be. Book first, then movie. Whatever. If I get lazy, I'll just dive into the movie first. The book is intriguing so far, quite a number of questions arises...it's bound to be a good one. I hope. It was an Oprah book club choice. Sheesh, I have to finish this one and get back on my reading. How many times have I told myself that?
    • I recently got in touch with a few friends from my elementary days. The internet is cool like that. Getting people together. I haven't heard from these people since I was 13 or so. Wow. We have so much catching up to do. I'm nervous and excited to see them a few weeks from now. I hope it'll turn up ok.

      My Sunday...

    • I had home cooked Champorado for breakfast. Yum
    • Played badminton from 9-11am today with 2 of my friends and my cousin. It was two hours worth of laughing, sweating and just having fun. I had a good time. We'll do it again next Sunday. Hopefully, we'll bring back our Sunday badminton sessions which we stopped doing when 2004 started. I don't know, I guess everybody got busy.
    • I napped from 3-8pm [I napped long hours than most people, hehehe]. Felt good.
    • Took a shower. Had my dinner inside the room while watching bits of The Hot Chick...
    • Watched NIP/TUCK [I missed a couple of episodes already] around 10pm-ish while ironing some jeans and shirts. [two birds with one stone]
    • My cousin Nadine's Amoebiasis [spell check?] is back again. She had it when she was around 2 years old. I hope it'll go away sooner than soon. She's very cranky nowadays.
    • Btw, since my Mom is back home, no more laundrying for me, well, except for my "delicates," I just have to wash them by myself nowadays. What I do is, I handwashed them then rinsed them on the machine [which btw needs a replacement]. Someone will do the laundry tomorrow. I think it costs P300 nowadays to have it washed. I hope the weather will cooperate tomorrow.
    • We need to have our CPU reformatted. Hopefully, we'll have our files backed-up by this week.
    • Have a fine week ahead to everyall. Godbless.

      Weekend is here...

    • Thank God it's the weekend. Yeah.
    • 2004 Wimbledon starts on Monday.
    • I finally got to see the finale of American Idol, I liked it. Especially the reunion number of the Final 12. Matt Rogers is such a cutie.
    • Bought a new bodybag from Airwalk, last Thursday. I actually wanted the one I saw from Nike but it was a little over my limit for a bag. Maybe in the coming weeks I'll get it when I have some extra extra cash. It was a nice bag.
    • Work was light yesterday. I just waited [10:30am - 4pm-ish] for a text message from our client. I need some supporting product literature for the shipment I'm releasing from the North Port Zone. Some Customs employees make me wanna scream. The examiner kept rambling on [and on] about the commodity of our client . It was BLAH BLAH BLAH to me. I mean, how am I suppose to know what he was talking about right? We just release our clients commodities, we don't actually use them or anything. I already have a product literature. BUT he want to see the specific percentage of Acrylic Acid and Ethylene. Boring. Anyhoo, I hope our client will have the supporting documents by Monday. Ain't my job grand? Hehehe.
    • My mother is back home. She's been in the province since February. She seemed older to me. I mean, negative stuff will really make you look older, I think. She's been thru a lot. I just don't like those greedy relatives of ours who make my Mom's and my Aunt's lives difficult. Darn. Why can't they be content on what they have? Why is that? Some people just can't and will never be content. I'm glad my Mom is back home.
    • My cousin Nadine hasn't been feeling ok for the past week. She only got to go to school last Monday. Fever and coughing. Though she still makes us smile by dancing and singing to that Rejoice song. She's my happy thought.
    • Ok, will read random blogs for now...Habba fine-d weekend to everyall...Godbless.

Sneakers, CDs, Pizza, Blogs, Ben Jelen...

    • It's a brand new week. It's bound to be a busy work week. Bring it on, I'm ready. I think.
    • Future Me is a link I got from Que Sera Sera. Check it out for yourself. I sent an e-mail to my future self. Kinda freaky but what the hey. It's free.
    • Went to Greenbelt 3 last Friday to watch a free Ben Jelen [pronounced as Yellin] gig. The guy is an envy for most guys. [I think...] and a delight [DEFINITELY] for the female population. He plays the piano. He plays the guitar. He plays the violin. He's got a good voice. He looks like a CK model. If he doesn't succeed [which I doubt coz he's a good performer] in music he could always have his goodlooks as a back up. He's the most beautiful man I've seen so far. No BS. He's that beautiful. His pictures which you can find online doesn't give justice on how Hummina Hummina he is in person. I even had a picture taken with him. [All thanks to a new friend David's camera] Hah. A first for me. Buy his CD. I recommend it. I wonder what is his glitch? I mean, he's got them all. Almost. I hope he's not gay. [hehe]
    • Found and bought 2 pairs of Diesel sneakers. 50% off. Man. Good deal. I got one in blue and one in mint green. Wanted a red one but there was no available in my size. Was suppose to get a new pair of PUMAs [not another Puma, my sisters said], good thing I decided to look first.
    • What else happened during the weekend? I bought 2 CDs [Ben Jelen and the latest from The Corrs for SisterM] Ate at SuperBowl of China and Yellow Cab. Did two loads of laundry. Not feeling all too-laundryee [is that even considered a word?] Been e-mailing and chatting with someone I met last week on a random thingy. Just talking. It's good to meet someone who's interested in the stuff I'm interested in. With no ulterior motives. God is good.
    • Most of my online time, I spend it random blog hopping...
    • More of those random blogs in the coming days.
    • I think we're moving to another rental house. Moving is not one of my favorite things to do.
    • My mother is coming home on Friday. She's been in the province since February. Don't you just hate it when some greedy relatives make your life miserable? Karma to them.
    • Regular jeepney fare is now Five Pesos and Fifty Centavos.
    • Okay kids, I'm off to zzzland now, I'm not really sleepy but being in bed will eventually make me sleepy. Right. Have a fine week. Godbless.

      Independence 2004...

    • Happy Independence Day to all Filipinos out there. Are we really free? With the chaos that's happening to our government? Aaarrgghhh.

      Love To Love You...

      * Got this from Ederic's blog. Just wanna share it. It's quite long but it's an awwww read...

My husband is an Engineer by profession, I love him for his steady nature, and I love the warm feeling when I lean against his broad shoulders.

Three years of courtship and now, two years into marriage, I would have to admit, that I am getting tired of it. The reasons of me loving him before, has now transformed into the cause of all my restlessness.

I am a sentimental woman and extremely sensitive when it comes to a relationship and my feelings, I yearn for the romantic moments, like a little girl yearning for candy. My husband, is my complete opposite, his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of bringing romantic moments into our marriage has disheartened me about love. One day, I finally decided to tell him my decision, that I wanted a divorce.

"Why?" he asked, shocked. "I am tired, there are no reasons for everything in the world!" I answered.

He kept silent the whole night, seems to be in deep thought with a lighted cigarette at all times.

My feeling of disappointment only increased, here was a man who can't even express his predicament, what else can I hope from him?

And finally he asked me:" What can I do to change your mind?"

Somebody said it right, it's hard to change a person's personality, and I guess, I have started losing faith in him.

Looking deep into his eyes I slowly answered : "Here is the question, if you can answer and convince my heart, I will change my mind, Let's say, I want a flower located on the face of a mountain cliff, and we both are sure that picking the flower will cause your death, will you do it for me?"

He said :" I will give you your answer tomorrow...." My hopes just sank by listening to his response.

I woke up the next morning to find him gone, and saw a piece of paper with his scratchy handwriting, underneath a milk glass, on the dining table near the front door, that goes....

My dear, "I would not pick that flower for you, but please allow me to explain the reasons further.."

This first line was already breaking my heart. I continued reading.

"When you use the computer you always mess up the Software programs, and you cry in front of the screen, I have to saved my fingers so that I can help to restore the programs.

You always leave the house keys behind, thus I have to save my legs to rush home to open the door for you.

You love traveling but always lose your way in a new city, I have to save my eyes to show you the way.

You always have the cramps whenever your "good friend" approaches every month, I have to save my palms so that I can calm the cramps in your tummy.

You like to stay indoors, and I worry that you will be infected by infantile autism. I have to save my mouth to tell you jokes and stories to cure your boredom.

You always stare at the computer, and that will do nothing good for your eyes, I have to save my eyes so that when we grow old, I can help to clip your nails, and help to remove those annoying white hairs. So I can also hold your hand while strolling down the beach, as you enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful sand... and tell you the colour of flowers, just like the color of the glow on your young face...

Thus, my dear, unless I am sure that there is someone who loves you more than I do... I could not pick that flower yet, and die..."

My tears fell on the letter, and blurred the ink of his handwriting... and as I conntinue on reading...

"Now, that you have finished reading my answer, if you are satisfied, please open the front door for I am standing outside bringing your favorite bread and fresh milk...

I rush to pull open the door, and saw his anxious face, clutching tightly with his hands, the milk bottle and loaf of bread....

Now I am very sure that no one will ever love me as much as he does, and I have decided to leave the flower alone...

That's life, and love. When one is surrounded by love, the feeling of excitement fades away, and one tends to ignore the true love that lies in between the peace and dullness.

Love shows up in all forms, even very small and cheeky forms, it has never been a model, it could be the most dull and boring form...flowers, and romantic moments are only used and appear on the surface of the relationship.

Under all this, the pillar of true love stands... and that's our life... Love, not words win arguments...

      Dum Dee Dum Dee Dum...
    • A brand new week people. May we all have a good one. Rainy as it is.
    • My Horoscope for today courtesy of Yahoo: You'll climb out of bed with a very big change on your mind --- and you'll be quite ready to put that secret plan you've been mulling over into action. Do it. Now. [I don't even have a pla...hehe.]
    • I fell azleeeep while watching Queer Eye, I'm totally loving Jai.
    • Menstrual cramps all day Monday. Sheesh.
    • Cousin Nadine starts kindegarten [spell check please...] on Wednesday. She's growing up fast.
    • Work has been light since Thursday. Next client's shipment is arriving on Wednesday. It's all good. I get to stay home or at the office. Some days we have quite a number of shipments, I really get rattled as to which I will work on first. But there are days like today, not a single one. Ain't it fun?
    • SisterM bought a Php25,000+ worth mobile phone. It's her gift to herself since she got an A in her yearly work evaluation. I think she'll get twice or thrice the amount of her salary for that. I'm happy and proud of her. She's good at what she does.
    • SisterJ asked me when will I buy a colored-screen phone, I told her I'm ok with my current phone, which is a Nokia 2100. I don't wanna carry around an expensive phone because I work in the field. At least, if I get phone-robbed [pray tell I don't get robbed again, the experience is not that exciting...] I will not feel really bad about losing it. Then, I guess, I'll get another low-end phone. And one important thing, I can't afford an expensive phone. If I have that much money, I'd buy the entire series of FRIENDS on dvd. Hah. Ooohhh, I'd REALLY love that.
    • I actually braved going in the ICQ chatrooms last Saturday. Chaos to me. People talking at the same time. Never really enjoyed group chats unless I already know them. Got to meet a few nice enough chatters. A lot of weirdos out there though. They're on my MSN now. Not the Weirdos.
    • I've been checking random blogs during the weekend courtesy of Blogger's Random Blog thingy. Here are some blogs I checked. I might add some of them in my blogs-to-read in the coming days.
      Lascivious Articulations
      The Diary Underneath A Tree
      Akiko's Bloggerisms
      A Wish Upon A Star
      B Squared
      Mark, the unfortunately named female
      Debora Prado
      Crtl Alt Del
      The Circus Trilogy
      Footprints
      In The Beginning
      The Boss Man
    • That's it for now. It's a Tuesday. A very busy TV viewing is on tonight: American Idol, One Tree Hill, The OC, Six Feet Under...

      Lazy Bowerd...
I haven't posted anything here for a week now. I was suppose to blog about my weekend in Pagsanjan. Just wasn't up to blogging. Hehehe. Meanwhile, here's a pic of my cousin Nadine. She's my happy thought. Godbless to all.  Posted by Hello
