Do to others as you would have them do to you. [Luke 6:31]
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. [Proverbs 3:5]
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. [Hebrews 11:1]

Typhoon Milenyo...

  • Last Thursday, around lunchtime, typhoon Milenyo hit Manila, classes were suspended the night before, work was suspended Thursday morning though I was unaware about the suspension. I left for work at around 9am-ish, passed by two banks. Took the LRT, it stopped at Blumentritt station, thank God, we were at the station when it stopped. It was around 10am-ish, and the wind was getting strong by the minute, electricity is on and off. Took a jeepney ride from Blumentritt to South Harbor, normally, it would take me about 30 minutes to get there but this time, took about 15 minutes. Then when I got to the Customs Offices in the Manila area, it was closed. Hah. I texted UncleBoss about it, my father and him were at the North Harbor at that time. I just waited for them to come and get me, then we made our way home. It was scary seeing traffic lights shaking, trees swaying, people's umbrellas being swept by the strong winds of Milenyo. I was glad to be on my way home. When I got home at around 1pm, the power was out. The power came back 6pm the next day. Work was suspended again on Friday because there were no electricity in most area of Manila. Prayers for those families who've lost their loved ones during the storm.

  • Took some pix Thursday night to amuse myself...

    This one with no flash...

I played the FRIENDS Trivia Game by myself...heee...

not as fun...but it kept me amuse...I just tried to answer as many trivia questions as possible...I need to brush up on my FRIENDS knowledge...

  • It's the last day of September...in a matter of minutes a brand new month will begin...I pray it be a better one for all of us. September2006 hasn't been that good for me but thinking about it now, I'm safe and sound after the storm...I am blessed, my loved ones are blessed. God sees the bigger picture in all of what's happening to us. Just gotta keep the faith yes? SIGH. I know, easier said than done...MUST keep thy faith. God Bless US always.

    A Better-er Weekend...

SisterJ moved in with SisterM last week. Finally, SisterJ's company allowed her to choose her place of living, and her company would still pay for it. It's nearer her work place too. Sigh. It's comforting that they are now living together. I wonder if they'd still bicker about whenever SisterJ would wear SisterM's clothes without her permission. Heee. I miss them. Will see SisterJ in February. This pic was taken last May when then met Gunther at Central Perk Dubai. They got me a shirt signed by Gunther. Coolness.

Nadine played a fairy on their school presentation...ain't she a cutie fairy?

Eeee treated us a yummy dinner at Teriyaki Boy, and had ice cream at Mrs. G's place. No VS and no staying up late. Heee. We have changed alright. Though, Eee brought home the Kurant in a sneaky kinda way. Heee. I saw Vanilia at the mall and want to get one for Christmas maybe.

Jessica Zafra's blog has moved here...

Saw the huge billboard of this Bench Body ad along Edsa. Makes me wonder what her flaw is. She can sing. She can dance. She's got a body that most women wish they had. What do you think is her flaw? Hmmmm...

  • It was a busy work week for me. Bound to be another busy one this week. Better than not being busy yes? INDEED. I am grateful that I have a job eventhough I don't like it, it's still a job. My job.
  • I got this from my GS friend vis sms:
Blessings are not something we have to ask for...they're already there! All we have to do is count them and thank the Giver everyday.
  • It's almost 4am...must get some zzzzz...I have badminton with my HS friends at 4pm. Good thing it's in the afternoon. Chat with NG around mid-morning til about after lunch. Then must get ready for badminton. I miss playing it. Haven't in a while.
  • Keep the faith. Have a fine week. My next post will be about Fanlistings. Heee. God Bless.

    The F words...

Here's the main page of the family tree, the pictures are on a slideshow mode. Coolness. And they are FREE! You can upload up to 1000 pix. I think, I've only uploaded 110 so far. Would be cool to have each name on the tree with a picture attached to it. I want that. It's not an impossible thing to accomplish. Not at all. Will need time and more time. Feel free to check out Our Family Tree. The downside to making the family tree is whenever a family is no longer a family. Sad. Let me know if you decide to make one for your family.

Here's our family...the pictures are updated...all thanks to the camera my sisters gave to me. Gotta love that.

Tita Loida [my Tatay's younger sister] and her family...

Tita Baby [my Tatay's older sister] and her family. Tito Mac passed away in 2001. He was a very nice and generous guy, always smiling.

My cousin Edsel and his family...

My cousin Elmer [his Mom is my Tatay's older sister] and his family...I have yet to meet these relatives of mine, someday...

My dear brother and his family...

My cousin Frank [he's the one who had a heart bypass a few months ago...he's recovered good...thank God...doesn't smoke and doesn't eat them fatty food anymore unlike my Tatay, oh well...] and his family...

My cousin Violette [her dad is my Tatay's older brother; she is the youngest sister of Kuya Frank] and her family...

I spent time at Fanlistings.Org and joined some more of my faves. I'm now a fangurl of: ED, HOUSE, CSI, Coupling, Scrubs, My Name Is Earl, Grey's Anatomy, Say Anything. I have more to add next time. Hee. I love them fanlists. I like how they make the graphics and such. Maybe, someday, I can make a fanlist for Jomari yes? Hee. Maybe, who knows?

  • I asked for a one day break from our usual weekend routine from NG. He didn't like the idea but he gave in to my request. I don't know why I asked for it. I guess, just to see how it would feel to not be in touch with him for one day. It didn't feel good. And we eventually talked for a bit before he went to bed. It was a crazeee idea, stupid even. My fault. We've been in touch [email, chat, sms, phone] since December 2004, the only time we didn't have contact was that one weekend in February 2005 [he went out of town with his HS friends], from then on...everyday...I don't know how else to explain why I asked for that break. I keep asking myself that too. Oh well. Glad it's over and done with. Long-distance relationships are tough. Sigh. It really is.
  • To add sadness to my Sunday, my HS friends decided to play badminton and they forgot to tell me about it. One friend texted me an hour and a half before the scheduled game. My friend thought I knew about it. It was mentioned last Sunday but nothing was definite. Oh well. I was a bit bummed that they forgot to notify me a few days earlier. Sigh. I just told them I'll join them next time. Wanted to go but I wasn't ready at that time they texted me and I didn't really felt like playing anyway.
  • This month, has been so-so for me, long waits at work and the people at the Bureau gets to me more and more, if not for Uncle Boss, I would have quit a long time ago. Just have to grin and bear it, I have a job, I don't get paid much but it's a job. I get to pay the phone bill and give to my Nanay with what I earn from that job. Better than nothing. INDEED. I am grateful still even if I whine about it. I shouldn't whine about it but I don't like most of the people I deal with from the Bureau. The weather ain't helping too, was hot/humid last Friday. I even brought an umbrella with me. Yep. I did. I don't like carrying an umbrella but it was hot outside. I just had to. Good call on bringing an umbrella. September 2006 is halfway through, can you believe it? Time flies so fast indeed. I hope and pray October will be a betterer month yes? For me and for all the people that I know who deserves a better month.
  • Okay, enough about my whining...must go get some zzzz before work. Bound to be a busy week ahead. Wishing it would be stress-free and less on the waiting.
  • May you have a fine week ahead. I'm already looking forward for the weekend. Will have dinner with EBC and maybe, another badminton game with my HS friends too. And no chat-breaks from NG, not again. Keep the faith. I'm keeping mine. Some days it's easy, some days it's not that easy. Just have to always remember that God is on my side. Yes, He is. God Bless.

    Better Paranoid Than Dead...

  • This one was forwarded to me via email...thought, I'd share it with you...Have a fine day. God Bless.

  • Because of recent abductions in daylight hours, refresh yourself of these things to do in an emergency situation...

This is for you, and for you to share with your wife, husband, your children, everyone you know.

After reading these 9 crucial tips, forward them to someone you care about. It never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in.

    1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do:
The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!

    2. Learned this from a tourist guide in New Orleans.
If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.
Toss it away from you....chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

    3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

    4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON'T DO THIS!)
The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AN D LEAVE.
    a. If someone is in the car with a gun to your head
DO NOT DRIVE OFF, repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is
in the back seat they will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.

    5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor, and in the back seat
B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone
in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back
into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman
    to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

    6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs.
(Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!)

    7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you
(a running target) 4 in 100 times; And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, Preferably, in a zig -zag pattern!

    8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic:
STOP. It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help" into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

    9. Another Safety Point:
Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird.
The police told her "Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door."

The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, "We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door."
He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes
thinking that someone dropped off a baby

He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night.

Please pass this on and DO NOT open the door for a crying baby ---- This e-mail should probably be taken seriously because the Crying Baby theory was mentioned on America's Most Wanted this past Saturday when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana.

I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know. It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. I was going to send this to the ladies only, but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass it onto them, as well.

Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it and it's better to be safe than sorry.

And guys...don't think this doesn't apply to you. With or without a wallet you're a target, too.

    Say It With Pictures...
She ain't the youngest among the EBCers but she's the babEee alritey...Haberdey Eeeee...a blessed year to you...Love ya...

Nice tsinelas no? The violet pair is mine. 35 pesos/pair and they are comfy too. A good buy if I may say so.

SisterM sent me money to buy her those dibidis of mostly Korean TV series and some US TV series [FRIENDS, Sex and The City, CSI, Scrubs, The OC, One Tree Hill, Smallville, Grey's Anatomy...], she immediately called me when she got the dibidis from her friend. Hee. I know, they are bootlegs, but they are really cheap and everywhere nowadays. I have some shows that I saw that I want to get when I have some extra cash like BBC's Coupling, Roswell, Nip/Tuck, Entourage [Mark Wahlberg produced it, wish he was in it too...], Veronica Mars and some other shows. I even saw the first season of Dharma & Greg, Once & Again...

Saturday was my chore day. Usually I'll just handwash my undies on Saturdays but I was in the mood to just get all things done so, I ironed my clothes as well, usually a Sunday night thingy. Then thought I'd clean my computer keyboard. It was dirty. Teehee.

Took me about an hour to clean the keyboard. Most of the keys you can't distinguish coz they've been erased. Hee. I need a new keyboard. I know. About time.

Doctora gave me this doggy bag...nice no? When Nadine saw it, she wanted to have it, she even put some of her stuff in the bag while she was here at home. Hee. My sister-in-law fancied it too. But it's mine. I haven't had the chance to use the bag yet but I will, sometime, somewhere. I'm not used to carrying bags. My bags are mostly bodybags.

Biggie shrimp yes? Uncle Boss and wife agrees. Hee. That was from a relative's place in Zambales, they breed them or something. I think, the year was 2003, I'm not sure. Gotta love them shrimps. Gambas at Dencio's are yummy.

Went to the School Fair/Alumni Day of my HS last Sunday. Saw some familiar faces.

A lot has changed since I've graduated in 93. We had more space before. No girls in gradeschool before, we were surrounded by boys, we were only 19 females among the 300++ students of Batch93. And the tuition fee was like Php11,000++ before, nowadays, it's around Php40,000++ for a whole year.

With some of my friends and batchmates. Our basketball team won vs 96. [SisterM's year]

My crush is in this shot. I have yet to learn how to take pictures with my camera. I should have zoomed in no? Crap.

With my closest HS friends. I wish the others made it too but they had prior plans. It was family day afterall.

  • Haven't been posting much lately. I have a few drafts but I still haven't gotten around to them. Hee. Lazy me.
  • Also, on the US Open. Blake didn't make it. Federer is unbeatable. Sharapova prevailed too.
  • 21 months with NG today. Still not easy being in a long-distance relationship. Sucks. Big time. Sometimes, I ask NG, will we make it? His answer is always YES. Why is he so sure and I'm not 100% sure that we will make it? Gotta have faith. YES. Until we see eachother again in February. Prayers will be appreciated. Thanks.
  • Must go to bed now, keep the faith. Hard sometimes, but we just HAVE to. I WANT to. God is good. God Bless.

    An Open for Blake...
Go, Blake! I hope James Blake wins vs. Federer on their QterFinals match. I know, Federer seems unbeatable but who knows. Anything can happen. Blake is the only one left on the tourney that I like. Mark Philippousis lost his first round to Nadal [who lost to Youzhny on their QterFinals match]. If Blake gets thru the QterFinals, he will face either Tommy Haas [who won vs Safin on a 5-set Fourth Round match] or Davydenko [I don't know this guy]. Then if Roddick wins vs Youzhny on their Semi-finals match, it'll be an all-American US Open Finals. I hope Blake wins. Heee. That's that. I haven't seen any of the matches [except that first round match of Agassi at my cousin's house] because I don't have cable anymore since March. I only check the scores daily. On the women's side, I'd go with Amelie Mauresmo but then again, there's Henin-Hardenne, Jankovic and Sharapova in the running too. Goodluck to all of them.
  • Thank GOD! It's Friday.
  • Wishing everyall a fine Friday and the weekend too...first week of September 2006 is almost over. Wow. I heard a Christmas song early this morning. Hee. Kids will have fun again opening Christmas presents. I know Nadine and Dylan and Jenea and my other nieces and nephews will have fun.
  • Keep the faith. I KNOW, sometimes, it's hard to but we just hafta. God Bless.

    Tubies...

Took me a few hours to upload this since I'm on a dial-up access but when you're bored and can't think of anything else to do online, you just gotta do what you gotta do no? Hee. Watch my cousin Jenea sing a a song that I can't quite understand but she's a cutie pie so it's worth taking a video of her...

This one video is of my nephew Dylan and his moves...my cousin Nadine is in it too...

  • Have a fine Sunday. Keep the faith. God Bless.
