My Saturday...

I:
>> got out of bed around noontime
>> ate my lunch on time [hah!]
>> went online around 1pm-ish 'til about 3pm-ish
>> washed the dishes
>> watched a little tv
>> took a shower [mango shower gel...yeah!]
>> listened to my Couch Potato CD while deciding if I'm going out or not
>> fell asleep while listening to my CD
>> going out was out of the question
>> napped from 5pm-ish til about 7pm-ish
>> watched Highschool Reunion [I'm don't enjoy reality TV that much except for The Amazing Race but HR was pretty ok, I guess, finale is on next week] and The Gilmore Girls [I've been taping this show since Season3 started a few weeks ago, I wish I taped the first two seasons as well.]
>> had my tuna dinner while watching the Gilmores
>> went out and bought SELECTA Blueberry Cheesecake Sundae. [too sweet for me but it was all good]
>> went online again around 11pm-ish

I Should have:
>> arranged my treasured junk [magazines, clearbooks and what not] cabinet. It's a mess.
>> signed greeting cards. some are belated greetings already. it's the thought that counts right? [excuses, excuses]
>> burned a mixed-CD for a friend who celebrated her birthday a few days ago.
>> started reading Harry Potter 5.
>> called CrossCourt to reserve a court for our badminton gimik next Sunday. I hope the 9am slot is still available for next Sunday. I've been itching to play badminton.

Church Songs...

I attended mass last night. The service was ok. The only thing I didn't like about the service was the choir. They sang the church hymns in a different tune. Making it kinda hard to sing-along even though you already know the song. Why would they do that? It's like changing the tune of the national anthem. Sheesh...Oh well. I know that's not the reason why we go to church but it's hard not to feel a little peeved about it. Have a fine weekend to us.

Emmy's in a matter of hours. Yay. Results will be posted here asap.

Alone Time on a Saturday Night...

Left home around 6PM-ish to watch a movie from CINE EUROPA at Megamall. Went to my usual stops once I got there:

1st Stop @ Powerbooks/Tower Records - some new CDs I saw :
[JMayer's new CD is out...10 songs only...darn...I think, I will be patient this time and wait for the special edition CD]
[Vienna Teng's Waking Hour...this one I wanna have eventhough I have her songs in my MP3 collection already...good stuff...she's on my CDs-to-buy list]
[Maksim's Piano Player...this guy is good...saw a performance on MYX one time {even taped it} ...whoa...he is indeed a piano player...]

2nd Stop @ Filbar's - just browsed thru back issues of magazines, was looking for the JANE August ish. Not available yet.

3rd Stop @ BOOKSALE - found and bought DETAILS back issues, April and May 2003, Vin Diesel and Ewan McGregor on the covers, respectively.

4th Stop @ Department Store Stationery Dept. - to look for more back issues of EW, US, PEOPLE, JANE...didn't find anything that I particularly liked.

*** saw an ad for the September sked of live music at the MegaStrip...Acoustic Dream were scheduled to play that night. Chose live acoustic music for a foreign movie.***

5th Stop @ Sbarro - went in line for my baked ziti with white sauce and pizza dinner. cheese pizza wasn't available at that time. darn. settled for ziti and garlic bread. an almost-famous person was next in line...the R&B singer JayR [he's cute and he's very courteous. he speaks Filipino] and a guy friend. I got seated. Next thing I knew, JayR was asking if the seat next to mine was occopied, I was chewing my garlic bread so...I just nodded...he even asked "ok lang ba?" [hahaha!] I would have asked for his autograph if I had the guts but since I didn't...I finished my delicious ziti and made my way to the Megastrip.

6th Stop @ Dairy Queen - dessert is a must. yeah. had myself a large strawberry-oreo blizzard. it's the flavor of the month. I wanted to try a new flavor. It wasn't bad. I'll order my usual rocky road flavor next time.

7th Stop @ Seattle's Best - used their restroom. bought a bottled water.

8th Stop @ Megastrip tent thingy - got myself a seat. smokers on my left. female smokers. chain smokers at that. how can people smoke one after another is beyond me. second-hand smoke blowing in my direction. I transfered to a table where there were no occupants yet. free from second-hand smoke.

>>> I will vote for someone who could/would have a NON-SMOKING bill to ALL [and I mean, ALL] public establishments. Sorry to the smokers who are reading this one. Smoking causes heart and lung problems. My dad had a triple-heart bypass last March. Smoking was the big factor. After 5 months, my dad is back smoking...behind our backs...as if we don't know. He doesn't listen to our request for him to quit. Hard-headed man. My dad is. [SIGH!!!]

** Sean Paul's Get Busy was playing while as I write this entry...yeah, I love the guy...will post a picture of him soon.

Friday Five

1. Who is your favorite singer/musician? Why?
I have quite a number of favorite musicians. I like them for different reasons. The way they sound, the way their lyrics go or just the way their song hit me.

2. What one singer/musician can you not stand? Why?
Hmmm...The Cheeky Girls. I just don't.

3. If your favorite singer wasn't in the music business, do you think you would still like him/her as a person?
I'm not sure because I don't really know them outside their music personas.

4. Have you been to any concerts? If yes, who put on the best show?
Yes. my top 5 would have to be: Alanis Morissette, The Corrs, Stephen Speaks, Roxette and Color Me Badd.

5. What are your thoughts on downloading free music online vs. purchasing albums? Do you feel the RIAA is right in its pursuit to stop people from dowloading free music?
I download songs to preview. If I really like it then I'd buy the CD. Yes, they have the right but it's a global thing, it's hard to stop nowadays.

Still Thinking...

if I'm gonna make this my main page since I can't keep my personal site updated. Hmmm... it's not a dilemma. It's fairly simple. I'm just making it a big deal for now. [hehe]
Will just take it a day at a time.
If my title changes from THINKING OUT LOUD to MY UTOPIA Ver.2.0, you'll know that I've made up my mind.
So many things you learn online.
Just trying to be creative.
I wanna learn more.
It's almost the weekend...yay.

Poster Wall...

This is how my wall looked back in highschool.
One time, my sister and I thought we'd put movie ads for a change, I think I have a picture of that too.
That was 10 years or so ago.
New Kids On The Block was a big thing when I was in HS.
There was a time, that I'd change it on a weekly basis [it's an art form too]. Cork board is a great invention.
If you don't have a cork board, improvise, use a styrofoam.
Worked for us back in the day.
Nowadays, we still have a posterwall, my sister "artistically" posted black and white ads.
Nice touch.
I'd take a picture of our recent wall one time.

Oh well...

I fell asleep while watching Six Feet Under last night. Then, next thing I knew the power went out. That was around 12:30AM-ish my sister told me. It was raining a few hours before the power went out but it was still hot and humid. I think the power was out for a few hours. I was up 'til about 2:30AM-ish or so. Just waiting for the good old electricity to come back. When it did I was deep in slumber. I didn't even get to turn on my electric fan 'til I got up around 5AM-ish. OH WELL...I'm still sleepy but work is a must for today. Have a fine mid-week. Godbless.
