Octoberfest...

When life was more simpler.

I actually joined one of the parlor games on Jelo's 7th. Girls vs Boys. Girls won. It wasn't easy what I had to do in this pic. Hee.

Elliott Yamin was here last week. And this pic is from Meg of the Yaminoys [which I joined recently]. It was really sweet of Elliott to wear this shirt yes? He even posed with the rest of the Yaminoys wearing the shirt like he was one of them. Sweet.

The kiddies. Gameboy and PSP and computer games and cartoons are the things that make them happy right now. I was once like them.

My cousin Tin, my uber-kulit-when-taking-her-pic niece Jenea and my cousin AJ taken during Tin's blowout dinner.

The family. Where was I? Hmmm.

She said: I'm thinking...she's such a cutie.

Little Tahitian girl is all grown up yes? I can't believe how she's grown. She used to be this teenie tiny baby.

  • It's the first day of October. Here's hoping it'll be a good one for you and me. God Bless.

Wake Me Up When September Ends...

  • I want this month to end already...
  • My Nanay had a mild stroke last week and we didn't even knew that it was one. We found out when we took her to the doctor last Sunday. She had her blood work and ecg done last Monday. Went back to the doctor last Tuesday. Her sugar is high, which is surprising because she doesn't like sweet stuff. The process will be repeated before October 9th, so, maybe, the people who took her blood made a glitch about her sugar and what not. She's got a high blood pressure, most people think when you're high blood, you must like fatty food, not my Nanay's case, she's a fish lady. When we have fried tilapia, hers would be steamed. When we have fried bangus, hers would be steamed. Oh well, the doctor asked her if she's got problems that she's been thinking a lot. She just said no. She's been given 5 types of meds, when they went to the drugstore is totalled to Php10,500. Acccck. She only had 2,000 with her. Why are meds so pricey? It should be affordable to all. Sigh. I'm glad that my Nanay's stroke was just a mild one. It's heartbreaking to witness when a loved one is not feeling good and you can't do anything about it. Your prayers would be appreciated.
  • Tatay got the sore eyes since Monday afternoon now Nanay have it too. Oh no. I don't want to have red eyes. It's been years since I had one. Also, Uncle Boss's house help have it as well. Accck. I hope no one else catches the virus.
  • The house owner dropped by earlier this month, and told her if we can't give a down payment, we have to move because they're selling this house, they need the money for a medical operation I think. SIGH. There are times, I wish I'm born rich so, I won't have any problems where money is concerned. Praying this will all work out. I know, this issue, has been a burden to my Nanay.
  • Also, their property case in the province, that's been going on since I was in HS, I think. Lotsa money spent on that case. Why, oh why, some people are greedy, not like they can take that with them when they die. KARMA to them. BIG TIME. I sometimes, want to say, just give the property up but they know it's theirs and it's been a long process on that. Just fighting for what is theirs. Karma to my greedy relatives.
  • Anyhoo, must get ready for work now. Prayers check for anyone who needs it. Bring on October. God Bless.

    Checking In...

Saw Elliott Yamin @ Trinoma last night. Was goody to hear him sing live. Aileen and I didn't get free stubs since when we got there the stubs were all gone. They started giving them out at 10am. We were all at work at that time. Mano got there later than us but since she had a Press Pass she was able to get near Elliott, even got a pic taken with him. Hee. She was on fangurl mode clicking her camera away. [We saw her from the 3rd floor where Aileen and I were in]. Go Elliott!

Grade 2 pic. I was Nadine's age when that pic was taken. Hee. Can you tell which one is me? One schoolmate from Grade school recently found me on Friendster, I honestly can't remember how he looked but I do remember his name. Then after a few exchange of emails, we thought of having a group for whoever we can find from Grade school. So far, we're 8 people in the group. Hee. Why I never thought to search for people from Grade school before is beyond me. Hee. I still remember a few names. Funny though, how my school mate remembered a lot from GS and I don't. DAMN. Is my memory that bad? We graduated from GS in 1989. Yikes. That's a LONNNNGGGG time ago. Goody to get in touch again with people from the past.

The new Ipod Nano with video. LD showed it to us last night over dinner. He's gonna review the new 8GB Nano with video along with a 160GB [my computer hard disk is on 40GB] Ipod with video. Ain't his job cool? What will you do with 160GB though? That's too much. Hee. Though the new Nano is really nice to look at.

    SIGH. I miss them.

  • Been a busy work week. Tiring. All good though. More of the work thingy this coming week. I dislike the Bureau for implementing things that is not needed. Why x-ray the same item each week from a multi-national company? GRRRRRRR to them. BIG TIME. It's a time consuming thingy. VERY TIME CONSUMING. They should just choose the ones that they have to put under x-ray examination and not importers who pay the right duties and taxes. GRRRRR to them.
  • Anyhoo, can't say much right now. Hee. I'm sleepy tired and not feeling good. Hoping that October will be a better month for you and me. God Bless.

    Coolness...

A birthday shout out is going to the baybEeee of EBC...Happy Happy Happy my dear. Love ya. God Bless.

My cousin AJ found this on YouTube last night while she was online here at home...I never thought of searching for this. Hee. Coolness. You also might have this as a ring tone on your phone. SisterM had this tone for years. Cuteness. Now, we have a face behind the voice.

    The "CUPPYCAKE" Song
(Lyrics and Music by Judianna Castle)
is actually the chorus from Amy's version of "You're My Honeybunch"
(lyrics and music by Judianna and Buddy Castle)

    You're my Honeybunch, Sugarplum
    Pumpy-umpy-umpkin, You're my Sweetie Pie
    You're my Cuppycake, Gumdrop
Snoogums-Boogums, You're the Apple of my Eye
And I love you so and I want you to know
That I'll always be right here
And I love to sing sweet songs to you
    Because you are so dear

  • It's Thursday night. One more work day and it's another weekend once again. We're already halfway through September 2007, ain't it fast? Yes, it is.
  • I was in bed ready to sleep, then I've been meaning to call GLOBE to ask how I can send email via my phone. I kept putting it off. So, I got up and when I picked up the phone there was no dial-tone. First thought came to mind was, I don't have internet as well.
  • I had to find out, I turned on the computer and voila, I still have my dsl. I guess, it must be the phone itself. I don't know. But I'm glad I have internet.
  • I'm not supposed to be online. I have not been online at nights since I am pretty tired after work. I get online when I wake up around 5am-ish, to update the dailybread and reply to NGs emails and just check out blogs and whatever I can check online before I get ready for work. Good set up so far.
  • Anyhoo, must go back to bed and zzzz. Here's wishing you a fine weekend to come. God Bless.

    Tennis and what not...

Roger Federer won his 12th Grand Slam title with his current win of the 2007 US Open Men. He won 3 of the 4 grand slams, he reached the final at the Rolland Garros [French Open/clay court] but lost it to Rafa Nadal [it was his 3rd consecutive win of the French]. On the recent finals of the US Open with Federer and Novak Djokovic, you just can't deny how good Federer is. He struggled a bit. Kinda off if I may say so but he still managed to win the match in straight sets. If Federer will have a good year in 2008, he'll be the number 1 all-time player with the most titles in history. It's still Pete Sampras with 14 titles. He only needs 3 more to surpass Pete Sampras. Can he do it? He surely can. Just have a matter of time, I guess.

Novak must be thinking: "I will get to kiss that cup someday...soon...it will be my turn..."

It was his first Grand slam finals and what a way to be his first up against the number 1 in the world yes? Their last match at the Monte Carlo ATP tour, Novak won vs Federer, surpassing Roddick and Nadal in reaching the finals to meet Federer. Those are heavy players he beat yes? I'm sure, we'll see more of Novak in the grand slam finals.

    Gotta love this pic. Hee.

Tennis hotties...why are most tennis players good looking?...Hee...is that the reason why I watch tennis? I will never tell. Don't click the video if you're a guy, you will not appreciate it.

Watched the Switchfoot gig last night, I actually thought of missing the show since wasn't really up for staying out late but I'm glad I went. Turned out to be a good show. A good turnout of the gig, got me a nice shirt too, didn't see any posters on sale though. Salamin, the front act was LOUD man. The band is fronted by Gary V's son. They were REALLY loud. Hee. Not my type of music. Switchfoot can be loud too but it's bearable. Yay for Switchfoot, they gave 20% of the ticket sales to the IJM [International Justice Mission] Foundation here in Manila. It was a concert of a cause. Was glad to be part of that. Cameras were not allowed or so they say, I think 1 of 5 people have cameras with them. Hee. Bags were inspected but of course, with how small the cameras nowadays are, it can easily be hidden.

  • How's your week so far? Mine started slow. Got to play badminton for an hour with my cousins yesterday. It felt so good to be able to play again. It was last year when I last played. Wish could play more. Hoping on that.
  • Over the weekend, I watched the movie Freedom Writers, it's about an idealistic teacher, Erin Gruwell played by Hilary Swank changed the lives of her students. I got the dvd because Patrick Dempsey was in it. Hee. But as I watch the movie I forgot about Patrick. The movie was based on a true story. I like movies based on true events. It gives us hope and faith in people that good things do happen to good people. I recommend the movie.
  • Also, started with season two of My Name Is Earl, fun funny show. Love the dialogue and stuff. Of course, I'm a Jason Lee fan since Mallrats and even with his beard on the show, I still lovelike the guy. I was halfway thru the 7th season of CSI but I thought I would halt that for something light and funny. Enter My Name is Earl. Next will be HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER season 2. Whee.
  • Anyhoo, I should go back to bed, not feeling too good, so, I took the day off, it's a light day at work too, so, it's all good. Bound to be busy tomorrow me thinks.
  • Have a fine day/afternoon/evening. Thanks for the time again. God Bless.

    Tiring Work Week...

  • It's been a busy tiring work week for me. Was up by 5am from Tuesday to Friday and I got home later than usual. Though, today, finished work around 3:30pm-ish and I was at home by 6pm-ish. All good. Bound to be another busy one next week. I am complaining just stating a fact. Today was a not-so-good day at work. Our client's shipment was randomly hit to be examined via the Bureau's X-ray machine. Such a hassle I tell you. And even if our client's company is a multi-national big corporation, the Bureau still decided to that they want to x-ray our client's cargo. Oh well. Hassle. I mean, IF they really want to catch those smugglers, they can, only they don't because that's how some of the people at the Bureau make LOTS and LOTS of money. SAD BUT TRUE. Tsk tsk tsk.
  • I'm glad and thankful it's the weekend. No work for two days. Yay.

  • A shoutout going out to my cousin Tin for passing the Medical Technology Licensure Exams. She just had her birthday last Tuesday and I must say that's a great gift yes? A mini-wave for her...whooo.
  • On the US Open 2007, my bets are out. Blake and Nadal didn't make it thru the 4th round. Oh well. There's always next year.

  • Got me this last night. Would have been perfect if the swoosh and laces were purple/violet. Hee. I like it nonetheless.
  • Random pic: this was taken January 2006, when my Tita Carol, my cousins Karen & Jean and my nieces Kat, Jade & Jewel came for a visit. I still have some relatives that I still have to meet in person. Someday, somehow. Also in pic are my parents, Uncle Boss and Tita Loida.
  • Anyhoo, here's wishing a fine weekend for you and me. God Bless.
