Do to others as you would have them do to you. [Luke 6:31]
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. [Proverbs 3:5]

I heart this game...

This was their 3rd Wimbledon finals. Rafael Nadal was so close in winning it last year but Roger Federer won it in 5 sets.

It was one of the best matches [I thought their 5-set match last year was the best but this was even better...what's better than best? hee] I've watched. With a few rain delays, the match turned into another 5-setter, Nadal comfortably won the first two sets at 6-4, 6-4. I thought he was gonna win it in 3 sets. A rain delay interrupted the third set, it was close, none of them breaking a serve, until it reached on a 3rd set tie-break. Federer won it. Then came the 4th set, another close game, no one was dropping their serves, another tie-breaker, Rafa had a few chances of winning the match but again, it went to Federer's favor. As the fifth set begins, it was the same thing all over again, no one was breaking and no one was dropping their serves. A rain delay occurred, good thing it was only a short one. In Wimbledon, there's no tie-break on the fifth set, could have worked for Rafa's favor since he can't seem to win a set in tie-breaks with Federer. Rafa finally broke Federer's serve to get an 8-7 lead and he served for the match and ended it at 9-7. WOW. It was really an awesome match. I can only imagine how the people who were actually there felt. Someday somehow, I hope to be able to witness a live Wimbledon match. It might not be between Rafa and Federer but still, I know, I would love that. Will they meet again for a 4th consecutive Wimbledon finals next year? We just have to wait and see.
  • I was supposed to go out today but the tennis match kept me right here at home. Oh well. I'll just go out and buy a card tomorrow. 2 weeks of following the Wimbledon was all worth it, the men's finals was phenomenal. I now have a new favorite female player in Zheng Jie. Until next year's Wimbledon.
  • Have a good week ahead of you. Keep the faith. God Bless.

    Quarters...

The Wimbledon quarter-finals will start Tuesday with the women's singles:
    Zheng vs. Vaidova;
    Radwanska vs. S.Williams;
    Dementieva vs. Petrova;
    V. Williams vs. Tanasugarn.

Then on Wednesday with the men's singles:
    Federer vs. Ancic;
Lopez vs. Safin or Warinka [their match is ongoing, I want Safin to win]
Schuettler vs. Cilic or Clement [their match is ongoing as of this time]
Nadal vs. Murray or Gasquet [I'm guessing on Murray to win]

Not much rain delay this year, only had one so far, that lasted about an hour and a half. I am hoping no more rain delays will take place in the coming days.

Mario Ancic reached the semis in 2004. Didn't get to play last year due to injury. Had long matches in his 2nd, 3rd & 4th rounds in this year's Wimbledon. He'll face Roger Federer [5 time Wimbledon champion] for the quarter-finals. Will he win it? We'll find out on Wednesday.

He was soooo close from beating Roger Federer on their 5-set finals last year. Could this year be his? I hope so.

China's Zheng Jie will have her first quarter-final appearance in Wimbledon. She beat #1 Ivanovic on the third round. I want her to win but she still need to get past the Williams sisters [if they win their respective quarter-final matches that is]. Go Zheng Jie. This is her best Wimbledon performance to date. She reached 3rd round in 2006 vs Venus Williams.

    What's New?...Not Much Really...

My cousins and I just amused ourselves even if we're irritated inside since some people wanted to see what is inside our client's container. It's a regular shipment for crying out loud. They just want to see. Fine. Waste a day, come back the next day to have it examined. Grrrr. We now have 3 pieces of bottles, the next time they want to have it opened, will just show them the bottle, I hope that would suffice. Ah ewan AND if they thought they'd get something from having our client's container opened, boohoo, didn't get that group of people a single peso. Serves them right. They "examined" the containers they know they will not see any fault. Grrrr to them. You have straight papers and yet, you still get harassed by this effing people. That is not work for me, if you're becoming a hassle to someone else. Ah ewan. We have the same shipment this week, I wonder if we'll get by the mickey mouse club.

I finally got my passport last Tuesday. No corrections. Yay. I was asked by a friend why I didn't just had it delivered. My reason was, if there will be any corrections, at least, I'm there to have it corrected. Thankfully, no corrections. I saw some people who had corrections on their passports. I feel bad for them. After falling in line after line, they don't get your passport information right, that'll make me angry.

My nephew Dylan turned 7 last week, we had his birthday celebration last Sunday @ Shakeys. It went fine. A good turnout. We're happy we got to do that for him. We didn't get to have that kind of celebration back when we turned 7. I remember, I had a party as well, even had lechon, but times are changing.

    CUTENESS times two...

My cousins wanted to take one baby home...heee...God bless them babies.

  • Heath Ledger passed away last week. Sad.
  • Novak Djokovic won the 2008 Australian Open. Happy for him.
  • I recommend Atonement. James McAvoy can CRY. Men who can cry, gotta love them
  • NKOTB [New Kids On The Block] will have a comeback? Hmmm. Interesting.
  • Maroon5 tix are pricey for me, might not go, don't know.
  • LOST starts its new season this week.
  • NG turned 36 last Friday, he said, he's old. I told him not to say that in front of my other friends who are a few years older than him. Or else, he'll get whacked in the head. Hee.
  • I wanna watch Alvin and the Chipmunks. Jason Lee is in it.
  • I'm doing a "project" on the emails NG and I have been exchanging since December 2004, it's not easy as I thought it would be. NG sent me 11588 emails as of today and I replied to most, if not all of them, multiply that by two, that'll be 23176 emails. Sheesh. I don't think I'm gonna finish that "project." I planned on it back in 2006 but just got keep getting set aside and now, the number of emails is overwhelming. Oh well. At least, I don't have a deadline. Whatever. I started 2 weeks ago. And I only got as far as emails dated January 13, 2005. Might not finish this "project" if I get tired. Hee. We were crazy kids for sending 20++ emails a few years ago. Nowadays, it's just 3 or 4 mails a day during the week, we get rest on emails during the weekends. In time, no more mails, if things work out as we hope they will be. Praying on that. 3 years of long distance is quite enough me feels. It's time for short distance, wanna try that soon.
  • This is the last week of January 2008. Can you believe it? I can't. Time is really an AMAZING thing.
  • Here's hoping we have a good last week of January 2008. Keeping the faith. God Bless.

    Tennis and what not...

Roger Federer won his 12th Grand Slam title with his current win of the 2007 US Open Men. He won 3 of the 4 grand slams, he reached the final at the Rolland Garros [French Open/clay court] but lost it to Rafa Nadal [it was his 3rd consecutive win of the French]. On the recent finals of the US Open with Federer and Novak Djokovic, you just can't deny how good Federer is. He struggled a bit. Kinda off if I may say so but he still managed to win the match in straight sets. If Federer will have a good year in 2008, he'll be the number 1 all-time player with the most titles in history. It's still Pete Sampras with 14 titles. He only needs 3 more to surpass Pete Sampras. Can he do it? He surely can. Just have a matter of time, I guess.

Novak must be thinking: "I will get to kiss that cup someday...soon...it will be my turn..."

It was his first Grand slam finals and what a way to be his first up against the number 1 in the world yes? Their last match at the Monte Carlo ATP tour, Novak won vs Federer, surpassing Roddick and Nadal in reaching the finals to meet Federer. Those are heavy players he beat yes? I'm sure, we'll see more of Novak in the grand slam finals.

    Gotta love this pic. Hee.

Tennis hotties...why are most tennis players good looking?...Hee...is that the reason why I watch tennis? I will never tell. Don't click the video if you're a guy, you will not appreciate it.

Watched the Switchfoot gig last night, I actually thought of missing the show since wasn't really up for staying out late but I'm glad I went. Turned out to be a good show. A good turnout of the gig, got me a nice shirt too, didn't see any posters on sale though. Salamin, the front act was LOUD man. The band is fronted by Gary V's son. They were REALLY loud. Hee. Not my type of music. Switchfoot can be loud too but it's bearable. Yay for Switchfoot, they gave 20% of the ticket sales to the IJM [International Justice Mission] Foundation here in Manila. It was a concert of a cause. Was glad to be part of that. Cameras were not allowed or so they say, I think 1 of 5 people have cameras with them. Hee. Bags were inspected but of course, with how small the cameras nowadays are, it can easily be hidden.

  • How's your week so far? Mine started slow. Got to play badminton for an hour with my cousins yesterday. It felt so good to be able to play again. It was last year when I last played. Wish could play more. Hoping on that.
  • Over the weekend, I watched the movie Freedom Writers, it's about an idealistic teacher, Erin Gruwell played by Hilary Swank changed the lives of her students. I got the dvd because Patrick Dempsey was in it. Hee. But as I watch the movie I forgot about Patrick. The movie was based on a true story. I like movies based on true events. It gives us hope and faith in people that good things do happen to good people. I recommend the movie.
  • Also, started with season two of My Name Is Earl, fun funny show. Love the dialogue and stuff. Of course, I'm a Jason Lee fan since Mallrats and even with his beard on the show, I still lovelike the guy. I was halfway thru the 7th season of CSI but I thought I would halt that for something light and funny. Enter My Name is Earl. Next will be HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER season 2. Whee.
  • Anyhoo, I should go back to bed, not feeling too good, so, I took the day off, it's a light day at work too, so, it's all good. Bound to be busy tomorrow me thinks.
  • Have a fine day/afternoon/evening. Thanks for the time again. God Bless.

    Tiring Work Week...

  • It's been a busy tiring work week for me. Was up by 5am from Tuesday to Friday and I got home later than usual. Though, today, finished work around 3:30pm-ish and I was at home by 6pm-ish. All good. Bound to be another busy one next week. I am complaining just stating a fact. Today was a not-so-good day at work. Our client's shipment was randomly hit to be examined via the Bureau's X-ray machine. Such a hassle I tell you. And even if our client's company is a multi-national big corporation, the Bureau still decided to that they want to x-ray our client's cargo. Oh well. Hassle. I mean, IF they really want to catch those smugglers, they can, only they don't because that's how some of the people at the Bureau make LOTS and LOTS of money. SAD BUT TRUE. Tsk tsk tsk.
  • I'm glad and thankful it's the weekend. No work for two days. Yay.

  • A shoutout going out to my cousin Tin for passing the Medical Technology Licensure Exams. She just had her birthday last Tuesday and I must say that's a great gift yes? A mini-wave for her...whooo.
  • On the US Open 2007, my bets are out. Blake and Nadal didn't make it thru the 4th round. Oh well. There's always next year.

  • Got me this last night. Would have been perfect if the swoosh and laces were purple/violet. Hee. I like it nonetheless.
  • Random pic: this was taken January 2006, when my Tita Carol, my cousins Karen & Jean and my nieces Kat, Jade & Jewel came for a visit. I still have some relatives that I still have to meet in person. Someday, somehow. Also in pic are my parents, Uncle Boss and Tita Loida.
  • Anyhoo, here's wishing a fine weekend for you and me. God Bless.

    [BER] months starts...

  • Random pic: My sisters with Gunther @ Central Perk, Dubai back in 2006. According from Wikipedia:
Six degrees of separation refers to the idea that, if a person is one "step" away from each person he or she knows and two "steps" away from each person who is known by one of the people he or she knows, then everyone is no more than six "steps" away from each person on Earth. Several studies, such as Milgram's small world experiment, have been conducted to empirically measure this connectedness. While the exact number of links between people differs depending on the population measured, it is generally found to be relatively small. Hence, six degrees of separation is somewhat synonymous with the idea of the "small world" phenomenon.
Small world indeed, all I know is, if that theory is true, I'm less than 6 "steps" away from the FRIENDS gang. Hee.

  • Technology doesn't scare me but this image does. That could happen in the future though.

  • Rafael Nadal

    James Blake
  • US Open, the last tennis grandslam of the year started last Monday the 27th and I only realized it when I saw in on Yahoo news a few days ago. DOINK. Go Blake! Go Nadal! If it were to me, will let all the guys wear those muscle shirts. Hee.
  • I got this text message from my HS friend, I thought I'd share it with you:
There are 3 days in which we must not worry:
YESTERDAY, because we can't change it. TOMORROW, because we can't control it. And TODAY, because its in GOD's hands.
  • We may have a fine September.
  • Anyhoo, must get going for now...let's keep the faith...need it daily...God Bless.

    Memory Loss?...

  • It's the first Friday of July 2007 and it hasn't been a good one for me.
  • Work wise, waited all day and afternoon, but thank GOD, got to finish it before 5pm. Sigh. Friday rush rush indeed. Corruption sucks big time but you gotta do what you gotta do. The usual 20 pesos "tip" turned into 300 pesos [I had to haggle for that too, the guy wanted me to give him 500 pesos]. Since it is a Friday, the people at the Bureau gets higher too it seems. It's a long boring story but like I said, I'm glad it's over and I'm just waiting for the text the dispatcher's truck to let me know that the 20 footer container has left the North Harbor area. More work next week, bound to be another busy one.
  • Around noon, a mass was held at the chapel of the North Harbor Area, I attended, it was pick-me-up feeling that I needed. Nothing beats hearing God's words yes? I'm glad I attended that mass. It did good for my outlook for the rest of the afternoon.
  • After the mass, I turned on my phone [which I turned off during the mass, there was one lady who's phone rang during the service, tsk tsk tsk], and for some reason, I keyed in the wrong Personal Identification Number [PIN] THRICE. That was the first time it happened since I got my current number back in 2003. And of course, after 3 attempts on the PIN code, it was blocked. The only way to unlock it is to key in the PIN Unlocking Key [PUK] code, which was at home, in a safe place. Sigh. I still can't believe that I forgot my PIN in the first place. DOINK to me.
  • While still waiting, around 2pm, I noticed I didn't have my Umbrella [my purple Pooh umbrella] with me, I traced back my steps and didn't find it. Grrr to that person who found and took my umbrella. I felt bad coz it was a gift from a friend and it's a really nice umbrella. Not just because it was colored purple. Hee. SIGH. Sorry Mrs G for losing the umbrella you gave me.
  • Since, we're talking about memory loss, my cousin was borrowing my flash drive to copy some songs from their computer to be transfered to my computer then burned into a cd. I brought the flash drive last Sunday at their house but she wasn't home. So, I took it home. Then Monday night, she asked me about it again, and I told her it's at home and she should just get it. I told myself I'm just gonna put it in my bag since I usually go to their house each night after work to arrange my papers. Tuesday night, she reminded me about it again and I told her that it was at home [when it fact, it was already inside my bag, I just remembered it when I got home and checked it.] DUH! Talk about being forgetful. Sheesh. It's still in my bag as of the moment. Hee.
  • I want to watch Transformers and Harry Potter. But I'm too tired to go out during weekends it seems. Though, I think, I'll be seeing the gurls soon, when Queen arrives this month. I miss those gurls. Maybe, a VS? Hee. Definitely dinner though. I can't imagine how some people go out each night or each weekend after a week's work. It's too tiring man. I'd rather stay home and watch tv [Wimbledon season right now...my predictions, Nadal or Roddick for the men's and Henin for the women's. We'll find out soon.]
  • Anyhoo, will go offline for now and just watch tv and maybe, start House 3 this weekend. May we have a fine July. Yes. Tomorrow is 7-7-7, said to be the luckiest day of the year...hmmm...do you believe in luck? Should I bet on the lottery finally? Hee. God Bless.

    Shout Out...

A birthday shout out is a must for NurseA,
wishing you a blessed day today and always, love ya my dear, I'm grateful you're one of my fwends...for all time, you hear? God Bless.

  • Wimbledon season once again. Will Federer win his 5th consecutive title? We'll find out soon. Go Nadal! Hee.
  • Also, I am almost finished with the first season of How I Met Your Mother, liking it, made me laugh.
  • Anyhoo, must go get ready for work now. Have a good day/afternoon/evening. God Bless.
  • Friday, January 26, 2007

    Appreciated...

  • Nadal and Hingis lost their Quarter Final matches, oh well, I might have jinxed them. Hee. Better luck next time. The only person who doesn't seem to need luck is Federer, this guy is just too good, his matches going to the Finals were all straight sets. I wouldn't be surprised is he wins on Sunday. Though, I hope Fernando Gonzalez play as good as he did when he faced and won over Hewitt, Blake and Nadal. He could have a chance. Who knows really, will find out on Sunday. Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams will face each other later today for the Women's Finals. Good luck to all of them. Until the next Grand Slam starts.
  • It was NG's 35th birthday last Thursday, he said he's old. He didn't have to work at his second job [used to be just a weekend job] after his main job. All good. He had pizza dinner with his parents. In a few weeks time he'd be here, but he still not saying if he did get his flights already. He said he'd be here though. He had this habit of keeping something, like a surprise, even though, I know about it a little, he tries to make it a surprise. It's quite annoying from time to time.
  • Starshine Laney sent me a package of: a FRIENDS book, 511 Things ONLY Women Understand [will post some in the future], CDs [The 90210 soundtracks were included, I only had the soundtracks on cassette tapes back in the day...] and a pack of Hawaii postcards. I'm grateful for everything Starshine. REALLY. Appreciated. Can't thank you enough.
  • My cousin sent me copies of 10 episodes of Grey's Anatomy season 3, 6 episodes of LOST season 3 and 11 episodes of Heroes, will try and watch them as soon as possible. All good. He said, he's send me House too. I don't want to request for other shows because he doesn't watch them. Hee. Though, I know, he doesn't really watch LOST but he downloaded it for me anyways. Generous people in the world, gotta love and appreciate them. I do.
  • It's 4am-ish, I just woke up from my 8pm-ish nap. I have the sniffles when I woke up. It gets quite cold during the early morning here in our area. Sometimes, I don't turn on the fan. I will go back to bed now me thinks. Have a fine weekend. Last one for January 2007. Time is amazing no? You wait for it then most of the time, it just passes you by. Hee. God Bless.

I Must [and I actually did] Resist...

James Blake lost during the 4th round match vs. Fernando Gonzalez [he's another good player, he's got nice eyes too...heee], was rooting for Blake, oh well.

Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal won his 4th round, 5 setter match vs Andy Murray. I'm beginning to like Nadal, especially his outfit. Hee. If they have an award for best in outfit, I'll give it to him. Best arms too. Am I watching tennis for the wrong reasons? Hee.

This is how the Quarter Finals draw looks like, my bets, Martina Hingis and Rafael Nadal, though, of course, Federer seems invincible. Oh well. Whoever wins, that's that. Hee. I'll just be watching and staying up late for a few more days.

Passed by Bench on my way home, saw the dvd of last year's BENCH FEVER fashion show. I was tempted but I was able to resist. I just left the store immediately. Hee. I'm sure, I will get that dvd some time soon. Just not right now.
  • I was in bed since 8pm-ish watching the Nadal-Murray 4th round match. Nodded on and off around the 3rd and 4th sets. But was awakey during the 5th set. That was a good match. I wish the Finals will be as exciting as that one.
  • It's not 1:28am, I think, I better go to bed and get some rest. I have paperwork to attend to in the morning, goody, I don't have to get up at 6am. I can get up at 8am and be at the office aka Uncle Boss's house by 9am.
  • Last full week of January 2007, wow...where did it go. Seems fast. Okay, my bed is calling me now. God Bless.

    Look Ma, No Sleeves...

Alex Kuznetsov of the USA wearing a Nike muscle shirt, he was beaten by James Blake on the second round of the Australian Open 2007.

Frank Dancevic of Canada wearing a similar Nike shirt. He was beaten by Lleyton Hewitt on the second round.

James Blake won his third round match vs Robbie Ginepri [he too was wearing a shirt with no sleeves]. He will face Fernando Gonzalez [who knocked out Lleyton Hewitt on the third round] on the fourth round. Go Blake!

Rafael Nadal wearing his signature muscle shirt and a pair of long shorts or capri pants maybe? It's tight, it accentuates his butt. Cute outfit. Cute butt too. Hee. His outfit is my fave. Coolness. He's facing Andy Murray on the fourth round.

Mr. Smiley face aka Marcos Baghdatis, me likey this guy. He was a runner up last year but he only got past the first round this year. He was beaten by Gael Monfils on the second round. Better luck next year.

Andy Roddick won his third round match vs Marat Safin [this guy has a temper but he's still good], was able to watch their match and Safin is one entertaining guy to watch. Hee.

  • Okay, another post but still not about the movies I've seen last year. Hee. Will get to that soon. Anyhoo, been spending lotsa time watching the Australian Open. I've seen some exciting matches. All good. More later today. I must get up by 8am. Yeah. As if. I nodded off while watching the match of Martina Hingis yesterday morning, next thing I knew her match was over and I think she won.
  • Among the grand slam tournaments, Wimbledon is, as I've noticed, have a dress code. It's all white, I think. Australian Open, French Open and the US Open aren't so strict with the players outfit. I like the no sleeves shirts the men pictured above were wearing. It's looks comfy and most of them have nice arms. Hee. I think, those shirts are called muscle shirts. Really nice.
  • Oh btw, after a week of trying, I FINALLY figured out how to put the daily bible verse code on my blog to my liking. Last week, tried putting it on the right side after my profile but I couldn't make the table smaller to fit the sidebar. Next, I put it on the footer area but I figured, no one really will get to read them verses if it's on the bottom of the page right? So, after copy pasting in different areas on my blog, I finally was able to find the area that I've been looking for. I'm not familiar with all them codes so, it took me a while. I'm happy where the Daily Bible Verse is located now. If I know how to code them better, would have it on the right side, then my blog title and description on the left. BUT I can't figure it out, so, will just let that be for now. Until I get the urge to figure it out again. Quite tiring in figuring out codes that I didn't make. Hee. God Bless.
